UK Trade and Investment mission in Nigeria
The UK Trade and Investment team in Nigeria hosted two major trade missions - the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and the African and Caribbean Business Network (accompanied by an exhibition) in September 2008. Some of the companies secured business contracts as a result.

Supporting trade opportunities for British companies is a key part of the job, as mentioned above, and here are just a few examples. Sometimes it’s a question of meeting and briefing delegations and individual firms, sometimes it’s hosting and speaking at networking receptions and other high profile events designed to help the business community.

Another example was support for Rolls Royce who sold 14 Trent 500 engines within the A340 Airbuses package recently bought by Nigerian airline Arik.
The corporate agenda across the whole team is also so important, promoting diversity, inclusion, openness and best practice management within the mission as a whole.
