Helping British businesses access global markets

UK Ambassador to Japan, David Warren, introduces Sir Terence Conran to key representatives of the Japanese creative, design and architectural sectors.

Sir Terence is one of the UK’s Business Ambassadors - 17 business and university leaders tasked with promoting the UK’s excellence internationally and ensuring that all UK businesses, including small and medium sized ones, recognise and capitalise on overseas opportunities. He was at the meeting to promote the world-leading know how and commercial experience of the UK’s creative industries, which make a significant contribution in Japan. The UK has the largest creative industries sector in the European Union.

Business Ambassadors have a particular focus on SMEs, which sometimes face greater barriers to accessing global markets than larger businesses.
