Digital Diplomacy furthers UK-Japan Collaboration

UK Ambassador to Japan David Warren is seen here hosting the closing ceremony of UK-Japan 2008. This was a year-long campaign to showcase the best of British contemporary achievements in the arts, sciences and creative industries, and to promote further UK-Japan collaboration.

The campaign featured over 330 events in total and a particular focus was online activity. Local bloggers were invited to share their experiences of UK contemporary creativity and so promote further awareness of opportunities for engaging with the UK.  Over 900 bloggers across Japan signed up and contributed a total of 3000 posts.

At the start of the video David Warren is with the guest of honour, Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado, before he goes on to address the audience in Japanese.
